LCD oversupply

This could be good news if you are planning a network rollout with a truckload of LCD displays …

Insight Media's Display Daily is reporting inventory numbers are way up for Taiwan's major LCD manufacturers, and rather than slow production, the firms are continuing to produce at high volumes, gambling that higher demand will come. Weaker than expected demand this spring saw prices drop by 7 per cent for mid-sized 32" and 40"/42" inch panels.

If demand stays flatter than expected in the consumer market, oversupply is going to push panel prices further south – which will be great news for anyone working a business plan for a rollout.
