Captivate sues Office Media Network

Captivate Network’s legal team is going after the Office Media Network for patent infringement, MediaPost is reporting.

The suit, filed in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware, alleges that the Office Media Network infringes on Captivate patents covering elevator advertising display systems, and seeks damages, attorney’s fees and an injunction.

The two companies had been co-existing, with Office Media focused on lobbies and Captivate in elevators, but then Office Media moved into elevators, as well, last fall.

Interestingly, newspaper-heavy Gannett Co. is going after a company whose upfront partner is the Wall Street Journal.
