Media heavy-hitter signs on to guide Ripple sales

While hardly the first time a senior conventional media guy has waded into a new media position, it is still telling about the rapid maturing of this space that the guy who ran local sales for Dow Jones has signed on to drive sales strategy for the young California company that is busily building up a national screen network in everything from corner stores to national retailers.

Says MediaPost:

Ripple has hired long-time media sales exec John McMenamin as executive vice president of sales and strategy. McMenamin was vice president of global sales and marketing for Dow Jones International where he oversaw all global sales, marketing and business development across 12 consumer media properties, including The Wall Street Journal, as well as The Wall Street Journal’s European, Asian and Latin America editions, WSJ.com, MarketWatch.com and Barron’s among others. Previously, he held senior sales positions at NBCInternet, iVillage.com, Turner Broadcasting, and ActMedia.
